Mojiko Institute of Arts and Crafts
In 2002, Mojiko Art Village, the predecessor of Mojiko Institute of Arts and Crafts, was established in the former Shoji Elementary School building on top of a hill in Mojiko Shoji-machi, with the aim of producing artists in the field of arts and crafts and creating a town through art. In 2011, the name was changed to "Mojiko Institute of Arts and Crafts" in accordance with the Kitakyushu City Cultural Promotion Plan. Inheriting the vision of the founding "Art Village," the researchers are now engaged in friendly competition in their atelier overlooking the Kanmon Straits, working hard to create art every day.
