Exhibitions & Events

The 6th Kitakyushu Citizens' Film Festival will be held in conjunction with the "The Shinji Aoyama Chronicles" exhibition. Among director Aoyama's achievements, his love for his hometown of Kitakyushu is particularly strong, and he has left a series of masterpieces known as the "Kitakyushu Saga" in the history of film. The director himself was involved in the Kitakyushu Citizens' Film Festival as a planning coordinator prior to the Corona disaster. The festival provides an opportunity for not only film fans but also local Kitakyushu residents to get to know Director Aoyama better, and to widely disseminate the background and achievements of this highly creative person from the city of Kitakyushu. This will be the first film screening at the Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art Branch. This will be the first film screening at the Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art Branch Library, and as Aoyama was a great lover of music as well as film, the screening will also focus on sound. Please take this opportunity to experience Aoyama's works!
