Exhibitions & Events

Seitaro Kuroda, an illustrator and painter active in Japan and abroad, was born in Osaka in 1939. After the war, he became interested in painting while sailing as a seaman, and in 1969 he established the design office K2 with Hironori Nagatomo. 1992, he opened a studio in New York, and has been active in various activities around the world until 2009, when he moved his base to Moji-ku, Kitakyushu. He has been working on picture books, large paintings, murals, and more than 1,000 live paintings to convey the importance of life.
This exhibition is the first large-scale solo exhibition of Seitaro Kuroda at the age of 86, who has produced over 200,000 works to date. In addition to a retrospective of Seitaro's achievements and the transition of his style through the exhibition of selected works, a number of events will be held during the exhibition period, including dialogues, screenings, and workshops for children.
